Ickity App Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 16, 2026

This policy is between you and Jason Cook, doing business as (d/b/a) Jelly Software (hereinafter referred to as 'we', 'us', or 'our'), the creator of the Ickity application. 1. ZERO DATA HARVESTING Ickity operates on a "Local-First" architecture. Your entries and audio recordings are encrypted and stored exclusively on your local device. We do not transmit or store your journal narrative data on our servers. 2. ON-DEVICE AI PROCESSING To transcribe audio and index your entries, Ickity uses small AI models (Whisper for speech, MiniLM for indexing) that run entirely on your device. Your voice data and journal entries are never routed through, analyzed by, or stored on external third-party AI servers. 3. CRASH & ERROR ANALYTICS To ensure application stability and fix bugs, we collect completely anonymized crash reports and error logs. This data contains strictly technical diagnostic information and contains zero personal identifiers, names, or entry content. 4. USAGE ANALYTICS We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We collect only anonymous, aggregate usage events — for example that an entry was created, that a recording was made and how long it was, that an export succeeded, or that a transcription failed. These events record counts, durations, and yes/no flags. We never send the content of your entries. No entry text, no transcripts, no names of people you have tagged, no file names, no search terms, and no contents of any document you export. We do not record your screen, and the app contains no screen-recording or session-replay capability. We do not store your IP address or derive your location from it, and your usage activity is not linked to your name, email, or account. We do receive your device's time zone setting (for example, "America/New_York"). A time zone is a clock setting, not your location — a single time zone spans thousands of miles and tens of millions of people, and it cannot be used to find you. We use it only to understand when our users are active, so we can schedule updates outside of the hours people are using the app. 5. ACCOUNT DATA For billing, authentication, and licensing purposes, we collect your name, email address, and an optional phone number. By signing up, you consent to our collection of these specific credentials. This is the only personal information we hold. 6. SERVICE PROVIDERS We use a small number of third-party services to run the application. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them receives the content of your entries: - Supabase — stores your account record (name, email, optional phone number) and handles sign-in. - RevenueCat, together with the Apple App Store or Google Play — manages your subscription status. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google and are never seen by us. - Sentry — receives anonymous crash reports and technical error data. - PostHog — receives the anonymous usage events described in section 4. - Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In — used only if you choose to sign in with those accounts. - Hugging Face — hosts the on-device AI models, which the app downloads once. The download request includes your device's IP address, as any download does; no entry content is ever sent. These are service providers acting on our behalf, not partners we sell data to. 7. YOUR PERSONAL CLOUD BACKUP If you use backup and sync, your encrypted entries are stored in your own personal cloud account — for example your iCloud Drive — using storage that belongs to you. They are encrypted before they leave your device. We have no access to that storage, no ability to read those backups, and no copy of them. You can delete them yourself at any time the same way you delete any other file in your cloud account. 8. YOUR DATA AND YOUR RIGHTS Your entries belong to you and stay on your device. You can read, search, edit and copy any entry at any time, including after a subscription ends. Exporting a complete archive with your media attachments is a subscription feature. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your name, email address and phone number from our systems. You can also contact us at the support address below to ask what account information we hold, to correct it, or to have it deleted. 9. CHILDREN Ickity is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it. 10. MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS We may use the email address or phone number provided during account creation to send you product updates, security alerts, or promotional materials related to Ickity. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time using the unsubscribe instructions provided in those messages. We do not sell your contact information to external marketing agencies. 11. NO SALE, NO ADVERTISING, NO TRACKING We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and Ickity contains no advertising identifiers or third-party advertising software. 12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy as the application changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this document and make the revised policy available in the application. --- CONTACT INFORMATION Jason Cook d/b/a Jelly Software Support Email: muckthemask@gmail.com
